Nation by Nation. Family by Family. Child by Child.

Good food is more than our business. It’s fundamental to life itself.

As a leading global food purveyor, Heinz has established the H.J. Heinz Company Foundation to promote the health and nutritional needs of children and families around the world.

Making a Difference Around the World Since 1951, we have been working to promote health and nutrition in the places where our help is most needed. Our groundbreaking Heinz Micronutrient Campaign is one example. Because more than 750 million children worldwide are affected by iron-deficiency malnutrition, this novel program allows Heinz to use our resources to help alleviate micronutrient malnutrition in developing nations around the world.

Caring Close to Home Heinz strives to be a generous benefactor in the communities where we operate. For instance, in our hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the H.J. Heinz Company Foundation is a highly visible donor to organizations such as the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank,  Pittsburgh Public Theater and Operation Warm, to name just a few recipients.

The Foundation also encourages Heinz employees to get involved in their communities, become volunteers for charitable organizations and, in short, do their part to improve the lives of others.

The H.J. Heinz Company Foundation core program areas include:

  • Nutrition-Promoting improvements in and a better understanding of good nutrition, and contributing to the health and well-being of people and communities
  • Diversity-Supporting the advancement of minorities focusing on two fronts -- education and community opportunities.
  • Fostering Healthy Communities-Supporting programs that enhance the quality of life in our communities, with a special emphesis on children and youth. Program areas are focused on the arts & culture and community development.
