The Foundation proactively donates funds to develop and strengthen organizations that are dedicated to nutrition and alleviating malnutrition, diversity, and fostering healthy communities.

Mission Statement

THE H.J. HEINZ COMPANY FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1951 TO MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS TO FURTHER THE PUBLIC WELFARE. FUNDED EACH YEAR BY THE H.J. HEINZ COMPANY, THE H.J. HEINZ COMPANY FOUNDATION IS COMMITTED TO PROMOTING THE HEALTH AND NUTRITIONAL NEEDS OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES, WITH PRIORITY GIVEN TO PROGRAMS IN COMMUNITIES WHERE HEINZ OPERATES. THE FOUNDATION PROACTIVELY DONATES FUNDS TO DEVELOP AND STRENGTHEN ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE DEDICATED TO NUTRITION AND ALLEVIATING MALNUTRITION, DIVERSITY, AND FOSTERING HEALTHY COMMUNITIES. THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE ENDEAVORS AND ENCOURAGES HEINZ EMPLOYEES TO PARTICIPATE IN VOLUNTARY ACTIVITIES IN SUPPORT OF CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS.

Program Areas

The H.J. Heinz Company Foundation spent some time working on its strategy and has recently revised its Program Areas. Priority to applications falling into its major program areas, including:

Nutrition:
Supporting improvements in and a better understanding of good nutrition and contribution to the health and well-being of people and communities. This includes our signature program—the Heinz Micronutrient Campaign, which is dedicated to alleviating malnutrition through products, services and programs.
Diversity:
Supporting the advancement of minorities focusing on two fronts—education and community opportunities.
Fostering Healthy Communities:
Supporting programs that enhance the quality of life in our communities, with a special emphasis on children and youth. Program areas are focused on arts & culture and community development.
