Mergers and Acquisitions

Consistent with our strategy to Grow the Core Portfolio, Heinz completed several acquisitions in Fiscal Years 2008 and 2009 to enhance our product lines and capabilities, including:

  • Wyko®, a sauces business in The Netherlands (Fiscal 2008)
  • Golden Circle®, an iconic Australian producer of fruit juices, fruit-based and vegetable products
    that fits with our increasing global focus on health and wellness (Fiscal 2009)
  • Bénédicta®, a French maker of sauces, mayonnaise and salad dressings (Fiscal 2009)
  • La Bonne Cuisine®, a maker of chilled dips in New Zealand (Fiscal 2009)

As part of our growth strategy, Heinz continually evaluates potential options such as acquisitions, mergers and joint ventures. Our acquisitions in Fiscal Years 2008 and 2009 were “bolt-on” acquisitions that we believe will enhance our competitive position in the long term.
