In Fiscal Years 2008 and 2009, Heinz focused on leveraging our scale to achieve cost synergies throughout the supply chain and in areas ranging from manufacturing and the procurement of raw materials to packaging and distribution.
As the global recession continued, our Company sought to improve margins, control or reduce fixed costs and manage indirect spending vigilantly while improving our processes and systems.
To enhance productivity and efficiency on a global basis, Heinz created a Global Supply Chain Task ForceGlobal Supply Chain Task Force and launched an ambitious multi-year program called Project KeystoneProject Keystone.
